The advertisement reads: “Join us in Crystal River Florida, where you will embark on an exciting adventure to Swim with Manatees. Our guides, will take you on our enclosed Manatee tour boats to the best locations in King’s Bay.” Mr. Buddylee would love to meet a Manatee in the newly constructed park(dry land) right next to to the boat dock in the photo. He may even share a head of lettuce, a Manatee favorite, with the Sea Cow. He definitely would not enjoy wearing a snorkel and fins (although our first Basset, Louise, was happy to pose with the diving gear, see HERE).
The clear waters of Crystal River in Florida(13 miles from Buddylee’s home) maintain a year-round temperature of 72 degrees Fahrenheit, and are home to the highest concentration of manatees in the world. HERE is a photo of the adorable and friendly creature.

Is Buddy Lee going to be outdone by Louise? Maybe he would at least pose with the dive gear and a toy manatee. I am sure he would enjoy the hot chocolate treat after,if not the snorkel trip.
Louise is definitely set for an underwater adverture. I think Mr. Buddylee would definitely enjoy the friendship of a Manatee. I understand that Mr. Buddylee enjoys many outdoor activities and is very social; but, I think he appreciates quality time at home on the sofa to keep himself centered.
You two are so lucky that Buddy Lee takes you to so many neat places. I can just invision him in snokle mask and fins paddling around that clear water. A close encounter with a manatee would surely be his ultimate experience.
Hi Sally, Actually, Budd has been w/in about five feet of a mother and calf as they played in our boat slip. BuddyLee’s mother (that would be ME) begging him not to start Woo-Wooing. He didn’t- I think he realized the specialness of the moment.
